Default I bought a SMD DD-1 plus. Question/help.

So I went ahead and bought a SMD Distortion Detector DD-1 PLUS. Got too good of a deal to pass on.
Since I've got the 2014 CVO 6.5 head unit going to 2 BT line levelers then to an arc xdi 600.4 running 4 focal KRC's 165 speakers, what am I looking for in respect to where the voltage/hz-kHz should be set at each point?
Meaning from ll's to amp then amp to speakers?

With the system u have and if ur learning about the DD1 and want to run it thru the ropes, the first thing u want to check is where the HU starts sending dirty (distorted) sound to the amp/speakers so u will want to test the BT LL output. Probably going to be about 14/17 on the HU volume telling u that u don't want to exceed that during normal ops.
Next u will want to test where the amp is gonna send dirty sound to the speaks. After u determine that max gain setting u will want to note the vac and from there dial in the gain for the speaks that u r using. Since those speaks have a max rating of about 160w and an RMS of about 90, u know for sure u probably don't want to have the amp gain set higher than 24.5 vac or 150w.
In a nutshell, the DD1 is determining max clean sound so never exceed those values. The DMM will get u the desired watts but never exceed the DD1 values.
And never ignore what ur ears r telling u as those damn things really r your best tuning tool.

I also have found when using the DD1 after the line levelers you will only be able to get a signal on the 1k test tone as the LL filter out the signal for the 40hz test tone.
Set your gains on the amp as noted above and ENJOY

Thanks for the help this far. When I'm testing this should I be looping a test signal/tone, if so about what hz/kHz? Or music?
And using the dd1 I'm assuming the speakers need to be disconnected or leave them connected the whole time I'm testing and setting the gains?

You will have to down load the CD and copy the files to a flash drive to use on the 14 and up stock Rushmore head units.

Don't have android, I've got an iPhone but will look to see what I can find. It does come with a disk and has many different tones. Do I just use one or all of the tones on loop?
