Default A little lunchtime tuning

While I was out back on my lunch break grilling up some brats I thought I'd mess around with a couple amp settings. Yes I know the surrounding will effect the sound somewhat, but I'm at work and doing what I can without getting into trouble. I still think I am missing something with the Focals, but since turning the EQ **** up some on the TM it has helped. In one of the video's I tried to get close to the 602 grill to show what it looks like painted black. Still not perfect, but good enough for now........maybe try the Pioneer Pro 6x9's as long as the better half don't find out lol.

2015 FLHXS
Fairing: TM400x2AD, Focal EC 165K
Lids: 1 Moto 692 and 1 Pioneer A series 5-way again......(I can't seem
to keep two Moto 692's working at the same time in my lids, one of the
692's keeps cutting out at moderate volume)
Tour pak pods: Moto 602's
Software: 1.19.2
2 BT 355's set with gains about 3 o'clock (probably going against the grain
on this one)
Knu Concepts RCA's

1. Dude what more do you want!!

2. Hard to tell on the vid if there's too much juice going to what speaker. It's either slight distortion at a certain freq range, echo from the walls, or the mic recording.

3. Thanks for posting a vid. You have more vids up than the vendors on this forum!!!

1. There's always better lol. Basically just want it to sound good and last for longer than a few weeks. Used the SMD-DD1 to find the distortion spot with a 1khz tone and marked it. Used my multi meter to back it off to a certain volt for wattage, 200 watts is fairly conservative for the 692's I think, and yet one still cuts out. Next 6x9 won't be Arcs is all I know.

2. Yeah, I think it might be the Pioneer not liking the power setting I have for the 692's.

3. LOL, no problem. Just caught up on some reading around here this morning. I missed a little.

The pioneer doesn't cut out but that specific speaker does? So same issue if you swap that speaker to a different channel?

Thing with a 1k test tone that is a safe freq to set your gains but once you raise you volume you may find certain freqs distort sooner than others, while some play too low. That's what you need a multi band EQ to correct.

I think your just about "there" man. Enjoy more riding and less tinkering!

When I had both Pioneer A series in the lids, one started cutting out (this was also a different amp). I am currently using the one that was still working.

The Moto that is cutting out will still cut out on the opposite rear channel as well. The Moto that is not cutting out and still working good, wouldn't cut out when I put it on the other side. I'm almost thinking tweeter again, I was messing with both the LP and HP settings to see where it cuts out, but didn't seem to matter. With LP I was able to get past half volume, but it would still cut out around 10 of 17.

When both 692's are working good I really like them, just not so sure the lid is the place for them to be. Maybe use LP and throw them in the bags, debating picking up a set from Gann and have a spare on hand. Still milling some ideas around of what to try next. 27 hours of overtime in this check, maybe 8-16 more hours coming this week, so........lol.
