Default Boom Audio Rear Speaker Distortion

Hello all, I have a 2015 ultra limited for which the first 9 months had no problems at all with rear speakers. Now all of a sudden when the bike is running and hot the back left speaker gets all distorted with the same sound as when a young kid blasts his car stereo too loud with too much bass to the speakers. The dealer replaced the speaker, reflashed the radio, and the software is the newest version from Harley. The bike is stock speakers and radio and still does the same thing. When the bike isn't running everything is fine. Any thoughts or ideas to help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Check to make sure it is not loose. Check the cone for any tears or cracks.

its not uncommon for a speaker's voice coil to heat up after a few minutes and start distorting. this is indicative of a blown speaker. Have your dealer replace it if it's under warranty.

Next time it does it, flip the speaker selector switch on the console back and forth to see if it stops

No speaker switch on the console on a 2015. Also, I installed a set of hog tunes speakers in the rear and there is no bass distortion and they are loud in my garage with the bike off. When the engine is running and I am out for a ride at full volume you can barely hear them.

my bad didn't catch the 2015.

so as I understand it, with stock speakers the left rear speaker is the issue and when you change to the HT speakers, both rear speakers are inaudible at speeds. That correct?

if speakers are new and tested good, connections at speakers are good as suggested above, you've replaced speakers and you have a different issue, then I'd suspect either a screwed up flash, improper selection of speakers/amp configuration in the flash setup, or a bad head unit. I would have them reflash the head unit

As is the case with Windows updates, the latest released flash from HD doesn't always mean the best thing to do.

Thanks for the info. With the stock speakers at speed they are way louder but will distort the bass, the hog tunes don't distort but are probably 70% quieter at full volume then the stock speakers. There definitely isn't anything wrong with the Ht speakers as they work fine in my friends bike.
