As far as I can tell the tweeter volume would reduce the volume of all the frequencies coming through the tweeter where as the EQ would reduce or increase the volume of specific ranges of frequencies. I am very interested on what others will have to say and how these setting apply to speakers with and without crossovers.

It is a shelving filter. It cuts all freq above the set point. I have played with it but just eq it all out and leave it off. I found the lower freq had better results, 4k or so. It doesn't isolate only tweeter unless active. Using passive networks it will cut all signal above the set point by the selected db and frequency. Help take some brightness out, without having to eq all the bands.
