Default Rushmore boom headunits

I thought by now the aftermarket would have produced an replacement and upgrade for the Boom headunits?
Waiting patiently to ditch my 4.3 unit with something better.

There's a very suitable replacement...any aftermarket head unit with the Biketronics Retro Radio kit. I pulled my Boom 6.5 and am running a Sony with the BT kit (after trying the Metra kit first for comparison). My hand controls work just like with the stock unit, not even a little glitchy. Great kit, easy to install, well made. Nice thing is, it doesn't look out of place either. Everyone says I'm crazy for pulling the nav unit, but other than a sub-standard navigation option, the stock unit brought nothing to the table. VERY happy with my replacement!

May have to look into the BT option again. I really like the idea of integrated navigation and the double din screen size. In Australia the cost of even a second hand 6.5 unit is 3 times the cost of the Biketronics option.

There is nothing better than 6.5 yet. Harley's touch screen nav is top of the line set up. Why not trade your standard for a premium head unit?

^^^ lol. Everything is better than that unit. If you have the 4.3, u def should go the biketronics kit and sony/kenwood head unit. U dont have anything on the 4.3 anyway, that u would want to keep.

Are you talking about speakers? Or the head unit? Harman's 6.5 head unit is a great radio. Don't know why all the hate here.

The guys that have the 6.5 are doing good with it and the biketronics LL's. Oh and the 1.19.0 update. If someone has the 4.3, dont spend the coin on a 6.5, u might as well go aftermarket rhen. For cheaper too.
