Tell me a reason other then "it sounds so much batter'' that you think stock 6.5 is so bad? Sound quality is great for garbage speakers, nav is just fine, all the bike infor, intercom, XM radio, and on and on.
Just like the guys wanting to upgrade their suspension and when you ask them why all you hear back is this limp dick non answers like "well I feel like this and that". Nothing concrete, just bunch of feelings. Haven't got a clue how spring rate, rebound and dampening effect traction and ride quality, but want to go out and drop $1,700 on front forks just to have bragging rights.
No reason at all to change out 6.5. Speakers, yes, head unit, you are kidding me.
#1 - please don't put words in my mouth; especially words I did not, and would not, say. At no time did I say that anything "...sounds so much batter [sic]"
#2 - I'm not doing your research for you. If you want to see the myriad of problems with the 6.5 system, simply read thread after thread on this forum. At one time or another [and continuing] I've had most (if not all) the problems that others have repeatedly complained of.
#3 - all that counts is that YOUthink the 6.5 system is the greatest thing since sliced bread. My opinion, and that of all the others, is irrelevant to your enjoyment. And, I would appreciate the courtesy of you allowing me to have my own opinion [even if it is contrary to yours].

There is no way I would do that, or recommend doing it. Speakers, sure, but not the head unit. To each his own I recon.

Still waiting for the aftermarket to supply a double din unit equal to or better than the HD unit. I had hoped Biketronics would have a plug and play alternative by now but nothing appears to have surfaced .
