Max clean output on the HU and Amp is all that matters. From that point you can always and should always dial the VAC and gains down to meet the wheelhouse of the speak. If I want 100w at my mids then I dial down accordingly, but going over the max clean and max rated is never an ingredient for good things to come.
Set HU at max clean, determine max clean gain on amp, never exceed such setting. -5 1k is what I am using but 0 seems to be the more commonly used.

2 ohm at 120w.
If u want to run the edge of max clean, borrow a DD1 and find the outside edge of the sandbox with that.

ok. i will try to get my hands on on of them. perhaps i came across as a dick, and apologise if i did, but cvb54 and kappas were recommended to me by a respected member here and he was dead nuts for what i was wanting... loud clear music at hiway speed. im happy with my system , especially for the money i invested

that combination does sound great man, I just don't want you to blow up your speakers after riding for an hour. Too often I see someone say "my system sounds great and I set my gains at 200w" (for example) then that get's copied and pasted over and over, but I can assure that same person doesn't post when they their speakers fry. They PM me instead!!!
Use the chart on your rated RMS output (150w @2ohm).
