Default Amp Recommendations

I have a question regarding a good amp.

I have a pioneer head unit with biketronics 6 1/2's in the fairing and their 6x9's in my saddle bag.

I am using the standard soundstream 4.520D amp.

It sounded amazing with just the 6 1/2s but the amp is not driving everything.

The Titan II's are 100 RMS/200 Peak
The 6x9's 120 RMS

Am I exceeding the output of this amp? The amp is 3-4 years old and I am debating to tear into it this weekend and have it bench tested.

I am running 440 RMS on a 400 RMS Amp from the math.

Any recommendations for a AMP? I like the biketronics. I am just having problems with the price.

If you are wanting to stay with the Soundstream go with the 1000D. It has 140rms at 4 ohms.
If you can swing some more cash I would go with the Arc Moto 600.4

There have been some discussions about the RMS relationship between coax speaks and amps, and a pretty good rule of thumb is 1.8 speaker RMS to amp if u can get it. The 4180 would be on the wheelhouse for the speaks and the ARC very damn close as those speaks have good SPL.
Disclaimer, this is only a gouge and does not apply to very high sensitivity speaks especially PA speaks with like 97 SPL. Average rule of them for average speaks.

I would probably pass on the Arc with those specific speakers.

Either 1000D or 4180 would be a huge upgrade over your current amp.

Totally agree. PK if you want to get a general idea of how the 6.5's or the 6x9's are supposed to sound. Bridge the 520.D to one set or the other. Could be as simple as adding an NVX bridged to the 6x9's.
