Default Upgrade Stage 1 to Stage 2?

Hi guys, newbie here. I have a '15 RG with the 6.5 radio, HD amp and Stage 1 fairing speakers. If I upgrade to the Stage 2 speakers do I have to have the dealer do anything (i.e. reflash the radio, etc) or can I just install them? Thanks.

U can just install them but u might think long and hard about this upgrade. Stick that cash in the mattress and when u have saved up a bit more, I would seriously consider a budget aftermarket upgrade. Huge difference in pleasure for your ears.
The bang for the buck u will be getting from the Boom is just not there.
Not slamming ur decision, just luv that green shix ($$$$) and hate to see it not work as hard as we work to get it.

just the thought that HD calls the speaker upgrades the same as performance upgrades sounds like a marketing rip-off and it is.

Any suggestions? I'm not up on good/bad audio products and there is a myriad of choices.

And I can testify to that!!!!!
These guys here have inspired me for a very good bang for the buck system and I have since been chasing the mythical creature.

I'm not looking for a kick a** system so I really don't want to spend more than $300 on fairing speakers and I don't want to change the Boom amp($$$). Just something with better sound and bass. I might expand it in the future to saddlebag lids if I get the $$.

You're not going to get there with anything Boom brother, and I'm fairly certain because of the bi-amp and crossovers on the boom amps you can't run aftermarket speakers with them and that's unfortunate because those are the good ones!

I'm clueless on audio systems so if I were willing to change amp what should I be looking at for a new system? Something middle of the road and better than Boom. Preferably something I can install myself so I don't have to go to a stealer for a reflash or anything else. Also something I can expand in the future if I want saddlebag lids.

Spend a little more and be happy! You will never be happy with the H-D system.
