Focal?

Yes Sir. I've had all the above amps in my lab and tested extensively. The soundstream has more power and more thump. SQ difference is minimal at best. So when guys start talking about the Moto, 4180, etc., have much better SQ than the soundstream I think it's comical. Don't get me wrong. They do have better SQ in the garage with the door shut. But out in the open air you need power pushing your speakers. If you have good speakers and good EQ settings on the HU the SQ is there. All the amp does is amplify it.
You can take a Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.3 or a Audio control Overdrive with the soundstream amp and have excellent SQ. The moral of the story is don't judge that amp until you've set it up to it's potential. The Soundstream TN4.900 and the 1000D are both very good amps for the money.

if I'm hooking both amps to a set of Biketronics Titan II speakers I'm taking the SS all day long. Again, depends on the speakers bro. But my point was if you take both of those amps and hook em to a set of focal KRC's the SQ difference is minimal. Especially if you take the price difference into consideration. In other words the $500 Fosgate is not $350 dollars better than the soundstream on a motorcycle.

Well still couldn't leave well enough alone so I installed my BT 6.5's in the lowers and ran them in parallel with the KRC's in the pods. Sounds better at slow speeds and the same at 75. Until I figure out lids and an under the tour pack amp I think this is how it stays till then. Mounted the lower grill cover screens flush, they touch the BT tweeters should that be a problem?

Reading this thread has me very confused but it doesn't take much. I have an SS pn4.1000D, BT LL with Hertz HCX 165s in the fairing and future plans to add Hertz HCX 690's in the lids when BadDad comes up with an adapter. When I set the gains on the SS I could only get about 1/3 before distortion set in. I wasn't all that disappointed since the SS was cheap and planned on replacing it with an Arc 600.4 soon. The SS doesn't sound bad at all at highway speed but I figured it would be excellent with the 600.4. After reading this thread I am not sure that the 600.4 is going to be worth the extra $.
