suggestions for connection at amp-wires breaking

Thanks guys for all the advice. That includes you LL247!

So to summarize...new better wires, more slack, zip ties.

Should I ground back to battery while I am at it?

Yes Sir! Takes about 10-15 minutes the ****** that tank off. Run power and ground straight to the battery!
