Default Which way to go with stereo system without spending $$$

After researching and reading peoples threads about their systems and cost. I have begun wondering which way I should go with upgrading my 2012 Electra Glide Ultra Limited. Keep in mind I have done upgrades but none with the stereo system. I am trying to keep the cost reasonable so I don't get divorced over it....($600-$800 max)

I was wondering is it best to get a new HU, 4 new speakers, and 2 channel amp for fairing speakers ONLY? (Run rear speakers off new HU only)

or

Factory HU, 4 speakers, and a 4 channel amp for all the speakers?

or

New HU, 4 speakers, and a 4 channel amp for all the speakers
(This option would mean a lesser speaker and amp to put cost in my $ window area)

I have a few amps in mind and speakers, but don't have a specific HU in mind and would like a few ideas.

I try not to get rained on, but in PA you never know when a storm may pop up so I am a little worried about water and amp/head unit.

Thank you for any input you guys may have for this and I am open to any suggestions on this topic.

please provide the amps you are thinking of, speakers as well...
there are many many threads/posts here with the exact same question and same $$ range.

I would go with 4 channel amp.

also, willing to potentially lose FM or part of FM?

there are several rain covers (BT, metra, VTwin) - so rain should/will not be an issue

What you need (again - in many threads as well):
8-10AWG power lines
handlebar controls (ASWC-1/Metra combo, BT, others)
Speakers
Speaker rings for fairing
HU (your choice)
Amp
(Rain cover)

The Amp I was thinking is PN4.1000D for 4 channel and kappa 62.11 speakers. I have also thought about titans II and arc audio Ks 125.4 mini. I would like to get hertz or focal, but may put me out of the price range I want to be.

I currently do not listen to my FM, so loosing it would most likely not be a problem.

The SS 1000D and the Infinity Kappa's are the ticket. I recommend this HU on a budget.

Better jump on it fast. There aren't many left.

I'll second Ganns suggestion
I'm running a stock Rushmore head unit with the Soundstream pn4 1000d and 4 Kappas. The way my system is set I catch myself turning it down doing 80 on the interstate.
+1 on the recommendations

quick pricing if that might help

HU (Gann) 70
kappa's 135/set brazilian forrest > 270+
ss pn 1000 amp brazilian forrest > 146
speaker rings Metra 82-9601 brazilian forrest > 12
power line brazilian forrest 8awg or 10 (good quality 10) > ~15-25
budget control metra aswc-1 brazilian forrest > 47
Metra 99-9600 Stereo Installation Kit brazilian forrest > 22
scosche rain cover > ~20

total ~600-625. probably can shave off some if you dig around on fleabay, etc
