Hey guys my buddy has a new Hertz HDP4 amp he is willing to give to me for a steel just installed the BT 4180 happy with the setup but the specs on this thing is WOW! I have focal 165 KRC in front fairing and the Hertz HCX 690 in the lids its a 2015 SGS if i bought the amp how hard would be to setup knowing its not plug and play would i still use the line levellers BT 355 that came with the BT 4180? any help in making my decision would be much appreciated thanks.

I've never see it done, but read where a guy not only trimmed the gauges rings, but the gauges themselves for the amp to fit. Maybe it's possible?
On a rushmore there's no way it will fit in the stock amp tray. All of the deeper amps that fit have the connections in the front, the HDP4 is on the sides.

While 6X9's will provide more low end than 5X7's (most of the time) I don't think you'll find a huge difference by just swapping speakers. If your set up was producing more bass, your 5X7's would be distorting. Also, the Hertz speakers are warm sounding, but not real bass heavy speakers like the Arc Moto's for example. Also, the 4180 with no gains, and a built in filter combined with a line leveler that filters out frequencies to flatten the signal is just not going to give you a ton bass. You can try adjusting the HPF on the LL to see if it will pass thru more low end freqs without distortion, and like your other thread make sure you flash is correct.

I have the hcx 690s in the lids. Those did not give the bass I was looking for. I put a set of Moto 692s in the bags and that completed the bass sound I was after. IMO the hertz have more of a mid bass sound...not a low end bass. If that makes sense
