Default Important information for '14-'16 lower speaker install

Well folks, I bought the following to install my Titan IIs in the lowers of my '16 SGS.

Vivid Black speaker boxes PN: 76000497DH $280
CVO speaker grills PN:76000065 $31 each
Grill screws PN: 10200012 (10) $8.40

Everything arrives to get installed yesterday. I'm ready for some lower tunes so I get the lowers apart, installed the vent hardware on the new covers and all was good. First I realize there is nothing to screw into to attach the speakers and grill to the covers. Then realize that the glove box enclosure from the lowers doesn't fit around behind the speakers so unless the speakers just sit there in open air you need to order left and right speaker trays (76000368/76000369) and 8 captive nuts. More $. I wished I had known this earlier. Could have ordered them. For those doing this install be advised you need the speaker trays.

Numbers 6,7 & 8 in the schematic.

FWIW, I cut a piece of 3M adhesive tape in half off the roll and used it instead. Seals great and holds the speaker box in place for the install.

Which 3M tape? The double sided outdoor/indoor mounting one?

I just ordered all my additional parts. I noticed Harley doesn't sell #10 "Screw, TORX pan head, 1/4-14 x 0.75 in (19 mm) long, self-tapping, black (4)" seperately? So what did you use? Where did you get them from?

Yes, the double sided tape for attaching trim on cars. It's black and 1/2".

The screws should come with the lower fairing.
