Yep, HD put every effort into designing these bikes to only fit there crappy Boom stuff. And with our persistence we and overcome most of these obstacles along with a lot of help from Biketronics. Just had to say that.

The "cheap" spacers arrived last night and are nicer and built much better then I expected. Need to get some screws from Ace today and put them in. Question, I am going to use the focal grills as the stock grills won't fit over the bt6.5 speaker, will the boom grills fit over the speaker but stick out less?

Focal grills

The spacers do have a nice angle to them

Wonder if they would allow the use of bt7.1 in the front lowers and angle the sound up more toward your ears?

Yes the Boom grills will fit and looks like they will stick out more.

Strictly my opinion but I suspect others will agree.
I agree. The most standard aftermarket set-up will normally outperform the BOOM system. You can spend $350-400 bucks and blow the BOOM system away. Sad but true.

Oh how true this is with the $400 system.

Made my first purchase toward the sound system upgrade, I have been scouting the Focal brand speakers and lucked out last evening on Amazon, I picked up a new in open box pair of PC-165's for $175, which is better than 1/2 price.

Now I have having a bit of trouble deciding on whether to do the BT Pro's or just the BT7P1.14's up front coupled to a BT 4180.14, are the pro's really worth the $350 up charge?......

I am sure I will need some kind of spacer for the rear pod speakers as the mounting depth of the Focal's is 2-5/8" and I am sure the magnet is much larger on the Focal's over the HD stock speakers.

Man does it feel good being back on the bike after such a long painful winter!!!!
