Just want to say, Vtwin offers some great customer service. I ordered a set of those DIY speaker lid kits and the next day canceled the order. It was a painless process and Brain kept in communication with me via several emails while paypal got sorted.

He of course asked why I was canceling etc but he also sent me an email to make sure paypal came through after he did what he needed to do on his end.

I can't say what the quality of their product is, but if it's anything like their service I don't think you can go wrong.

As far as the 6x9 adaptors go, very nice quality. It's a two piece part, one 3/8" piece that mounts up to the lid with cut outs for the grill screws and then one more 3/8" thick piece to mount the 6x9 to and then they sandwich together for what looks like a seamless transition. Seems very sturdy, and if this Michigan weather could make up it's mind if be able to go do a road test lol. Another chance of snow coming up Tuesday........

One might really take a look at these VTWIN's. I'm going up to this see these next week, I've talked to them that told me they have trouble keeping up.

Bringing back a post I made a week ago, considering price on HD lids, I would be money ahead getting the loaded HogTunes for 499 wouldn't I?
What ohm speaker are the HT 6x9? Would I be able to run in parallel with a BT 2180 and the 7.1 pro fairing speakers?

The Pro's shine the more power you give them, that's the main difference between the Pro's and 7P1's. If you are running those speakers, you would be robbing them and your 6X9's but running them in parallel. You should really consider a 4 channel amp.

Just remember, those Hogtunes are just primed, not painted.

Yep, I can get my lids painted for about 125. They come with the grills so at 5+125 I'm still quite cheaper than HD was my reasoning. Would that be right to assume?

Since I have a second 2180 amp, what if I run two of those until I get a 4180. Would that work? Can I make that fit?

It's about a wash.

From Boardtracker HD:
Color matched vivid black Boom lids (2014+) $430+$100 for grills and the screws (I have the part numbers if needed)

V-Twin audio 6x9 adaptors (if you call them you can get cheaper shipping) roughly $100, but not necessary if you stay with 5x7 and will save you some money

So about $630 shipped to your door. Took a week maybe for vivid black, same with my king tour pak.
