Default 2016 street glide speaker and amp upgrade

Hey everyone, I've been looking into upgrading my new 2016 sg specials audio system. Just the fairing speakers and adding an amp. What's going to be the best bang for the buck on these new bikes? I had biketrinics 7.1 speakers and a j&m 250watt amp on my 13 street glide which was a killer combo. Should I just go with a good set of speakers and a Rockford fosgate 300 amp
Or go HD boom stage 2 with amp
J&m rokkers with 330 amp
Or the biketrinics set up?

Well, since you've already experienced the BT 7.1s...............

The BT is by far the best of the setups you mentioned. If you still have the 7.1 just get the BT brackets to ditch the pods, line leveler, and 2180 amp and you're golden (or 4180 amp in case you want to expand later).

I've owned BT and JM so I can tell you it's ok to throw up in your mouth a little bit any time someone mentions JM. Same goes for boom II, not even in the same class as BT.

I would second what Roadie13 said... BT is best out of all the system's you mentioned by far! If you think the 7.1's sound good with the JM amp wait till you hear it with the 2180 or 4180!!

I'll throw the Cerwin Vega B52 in the mix. I was really happy with the B2 and Moto 602's, I can imagine the extra 50 Watts a side with the B52 would sound even better with those 7.1's.

I bring home my 16 SGS tomorrow. I am in the same boat. Not sure which set up to go with. I like the plug and play Biketronics 7.1 but I'm not sure if the 2180 is powerful enough to push the Pro's.

Thanks for the good info guys, I have heard a few bad reviews on the boom 2 and my last j&m setup didn't hold up well. Sounded good while it lasted.
Does the biketrinics amp come pre tuned or would I have to adjust it?

Wish I still had the 7.1 speakers but the wreck claimed them along with the rest of the bike.

The BT amps have no adjustments on them. The amp controls the gains automatically. The BT355 Line Levelers do have Gain and HPF setting on them if needed. If you purchase the 2014+ kit it come with the Amp, speakers, speaker brackets, line levelers and wiring to make it a plug & play setup.

I chose the BT kit with 7.1 pro's and upgraded to the 4180 amp for an extra $100, being I plan to add speaker lids in the future. I'm just about done the install. Just need to add backer rod and polyfill, then button up the fairing. I can say this though...without the shell back on, and with nothing to seal gaps, this sucker is LOUD and quite clear! I mean like make you're ears hurt loud.....but I likey! Lol
