Hey everyone just wondering what speakers that you are having luck with that go in your fairing? 5 1/4 speakers with 400 watt amp. I have been using Infinity Koppas and I keep blowing them. what are you guys using

ng, what amp? You need to get 6.5 adapters and put a set of 6.5 speakers in your fairing. It might depend on your amp what speakers you could use, that's why I asked, is it 400 watts rms?

 

Knowing the amp is important, you might be thinking 400w at 4ohm but the Kappas are 2ohm speakers. Plus, it's not always power that kills speakers, most of the time it's distortion.

 

What 400 watt amp? If you are blowing speakers it's in the set up. Kappa's take a lot of juice 5.25 and 6.5. Tough to blow those speakers unless the gains are maxed out and your volume is turned all the way up.

 

I had the same problem with the Kappas but I only lost the tweeters. They like the power but not for long. The tweeters must be the weak link with my set up with the Soundstream PN4 1000D pushing them
