So I ended up going with the full BT package... 4180, 7.1's in front, 6.5's in back with the VTwin adapters (purchased separately), 355 LL's and breakout harness. Didnt talk to Bill but Donna at BT was great and very helpful and I got the 10% + 10% discount.

Thanks to all on this forum for the great advice. I'm glad I went the BT route. I'll let everyone know how the install goes.

Hey Bigboyride... Just curious, how long did your install take? Also, did you have any issues getting the front pods out? I heard that can be a bitch. Any special tools or other parts/pieces needed?

Just thinking ahead for things I should plan or be ready for when I do my install.

For the pods a bitch is an understatement. I use a wobble socket and a open end wrench. When you install the BT brackets do not reuse the HD allen bolts. Get yourself some 1/4 x 20 bolts I forget the length. Other than that everything is plug and play. You do have to remove the fuel tank to run the power wire to the battery. It helps if the tank is near empty of fuel. Bigboy's installation and Rockout's are very clean. The next time I remove my fairing I am going to mount the line levelers as they have. You might want to get some 3/4 backer rod to put between the BT brackets and the inner fairing.
Here is a link to my set-up.https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio...-newbie-2.html There is a lot of help from BertK. In additon, Rockout has a great link here:
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio...0-is-in-2.html just post up any questions you have about the install and somebody will jump in. Most of us have spend so much money on audio equipment we cannot afford to ride anymore. However, our bikes sound great. Mine even dances to the music.

This is the backer rod between the BT bracket and the inner fairing. you can see the HD allen bolts are to short going through the BT bracket

If you do this, which there is a 99% chance you will then you will qualify for the Busted knuckle award. Which I have at the current time and I am having a hard time trying to pass it on to the next guy.

Use these bolts to replace the HD allen head ones. They are too short and a pain in the *** to reinstall.

Basically exactly what Paul said. I used his and Bertk's and Rockout's photos and install info as my guide. I used a small wrench with a ratchet on one end for the hard to get to bolts. I didn't have the swivel for the regular ratchet, but have been told that's the way to go. I used the 3/4" filler like Paul did and I did replace the 4 star bolts with regular bolts as they suggested. As far as how long it took, I didn't work hard at it and drug it out over a whole weekend. The rear pods took me a little while as I had to cut two bolts and grind a little on the rear passenger volume control. I also put some filler in the rear pods and wrapped the front speakers. Will try to get my other pics uploaded next couple days.

Skibum, your profile says you're in Northwestern PA? Whereabouts?

I'm probably not too far if you need help with anything.
