That Amp and Speaker combo will sound fantastic at 80mph. Only thing is to find out if it fits in the fairing. Find out from Reckless how much room they have for a radio in there. I have that amp at home and take some measurements with the amp and radio inside a fairing to see if it fits.

Thanks for your input! Hopefully you guys know what you're talking about cause That's what I'm basing my buying decision off of. Haha I'm sure you do. I'm glad I found this forumn. I'll double check dimensions from Reckless, but sounds like Gannicus says I'm a-ok to proceed. Then, last thing will be to choose a HU.
What do I need to know besides other components I'm using when choosing a HU? I'm really not sure how I will run my music yet or what is the best option. iTunes, usb, radio... Combo of them all I'm sure. I'm so technologically challenged when it comes to all that stuff. Any input or ideas there??

Sony MEX-M70BT
Kennwood 998
JVC KD-R97MBS CD
Clarion VZ401
Pyle PLBT72G
Alpine CDE-HD149BT
These are some of the HU's that have been recommended to me

I've been digging trying to find where I found these pics but not having any luck. I got them for reference when we got around to doing my sons audio upgrade. This is shown with the SS pn4.1000 and you can see how much room is still available.

The Sony, Alpine, and Kenwood are bad azz units. I haven't tried the others.

I like the Kenwood because you can reverse the color display on the screen and it lets you see it a little better in the sunlight. The Sony is Marine rated for whatever that worth in protection. I would stick to one of those as they are proven units.

Music sources. There's a good chance that any amp you choose is going to kill or interefere with some FM reception. I normally play everything off of USB and for longer trips I can Bluetooth or plug in my cell phone and stream Pandora, Spotify, Radio Apps. Never FM. Best sounding source will come from a "flat file" on a USB or CD.

Wow all the specs I saw on this amp from sonic and crutchfield show this thing to be huge. If that's the case then this would absolutely work.

I've been looking at the wrong amp. No wonder I thought it was huge.

Trust Us! Sony Mex, Alpine or the Kenwood 998 is the way you want to go. USB stick all the way!
