6.5 Motos 602
#21
Finally got a new 1000d and installed it. Test rode the bike.
I installed lowers on my 09 Flhx, had them painted by Harley, bought speaker baskets or pods from Harley and I had those painted gloss black from a local auto body guy I know.
I installed a sound streem 1000d and blew out the rear channel by being stupid. Got a new one and installed it without shorting it out.
Anyway......cranked up the bike yesterday first time since December and off I went to see what these lower moto 602 and top Biketronics 7.1 pro series would do.
Those biketronics pros are like having a live band in front of you. Just amazing speakers. Now I'm driving the 2 moto s below In a lower fairing set up.
I found the lowers themselves keep out a lot of wind and with those Motos cranking having a party below and the pro series having a party above the sound was just so clear and powerful. At 50-60 mph the sound and music is amazing. At 80 mph it was still extremely enjoyable and I went up to 24-26 volume with my Sony mex 70 BT head unit. It was all I needed but I chickened out how far I could play this system. Could I go to 30 or more?
I was tempted but decided not to push things on day 1. I know I could have and in time I will play some more but yesterday was not the day to see how far could I push it.
The only issue I had was making this amp fit. I must have tried to install my fairing 15 times AFTER I relocated the amp on a downward angle and it still wouldn't fit. I redesigned brackets and relocated wire harnesses. Still it gave me a problem. It was a bitch.
If I knew now all I would have to do I would have given up on the separate gain adjustments and just popped in a BT4180. But I'm glad it worked out and now I have a 1000d under the hood. Thanks to brother Gann and Haze for allowing me to batter them with questions along the way. I learned a lot from you guys.
