Stealth Fairing installed on my '13 King
Well, I finally got my fairing installed on my '13 King and couldn't be happier.
I went with the Stealth fairing which is a nice piece FOR THE PRICE. There were some minor fitment issues which were easy enough to tackle (had to fab some spacers for the brackets to fit correctly) and there are some finish details that someone concerned about a show quality finish would want to address (minor mis-allignment between the halves)... but for me its just something to block the wind and hold my tunes.
Equipment wise, I didn't go all out. I was on a really tight budget so I took a few chances and overall I'm very happy with the results:
JVC KD-X31MBS Headunit
Kenwood KAC-M1804 amp
Polk dB 521 speakers
I was a little concerned about the amp since its very basic and has no adjustment for gains but power-wise it was matched to the speakers perfectly and the headunit has a full pro-eq setting so setting my filters and eq wouldn't be an issue.
For a cheap system it screams pretty damn good... and almost distortion free up until the last few clicks of the attenuator... and very easy to hear over the bike and wind.
I got all the components as factory refurbs so, including the fairing and peripherals, I have just over $500 in the whole thing.
