Just a simple man that wants a simple system

I would have grabbed that amp but jumped on the BT sale yesterday.

I can't justify a BT amp, it's just far too expensive for what you get. I guess I'll just have to learn to be without FM and I'm leaning toward the B52 for $150ish. And I don't want to spend any more than $300 on speakers and the BT 7.1's are $270. I think that might be a winning combo.

Initially I was hoping to keep the stock head unit (aesthetics and water proof purposes), however after reading many posts it seems a head unit upgrade should be considered. With that, can you point out a handful that I may be able to compare (Sony, Kenwood, etc) as well provide your recommendation.
As far as speakers, I am lost. Should I be looking to 6.5 or 7.25 in size? In Sturgis this last past year is when I really began seeking an audio upgrade. No one that I ride with has upgraded audio so I relied primarily on the various vendors. Obviously I have seen HD’s Boom Audio. At Black Hills HD in Rapid I know I came across J&M, and another vendor as well in downtown Sturgis Rockford Fosgate. Again, it appears from my forum reading the favored and primary go two speakers at the moment are Infinity Kappa.
Amp wise I am good for anything however don’t want to have to fine tune it too much and would like it to fit nicely install wise. Retaining FM radio would be ideal.
Please provide some input for a head unit, speakers and an amp. I am comfortable within the $1,000 range. Retaining FM radio would be ideal, as well hopefully having visually appealing speaker grilles for the Road Glide. Plug and play, or close including a wire harness would be awesome! Perhaps that’s what makes Biketronics and J&M appealing, a package? Ultimately I suspect like most I will get the audio bug and be interested in dialing in my system if possible. Thanks

Sportruk, a lot of good info here. If you want to keep Fm, and get a plug and play system, I would recommend calling Biketronics and talk to Bill. You should be able to get a great sounding stereo for $1000, great co. and life time warranty. This post should bump you up to top of forum and get other opinions. How many speakers, and their locations would help with more info. I am running a Kenwood 998 HU and it is better sounding then my previous Alpine 9886. Good luck, and oh yeah I am not a fan of J&M.
