Default Using Polyfill

So, the BT stuff should ship today, I hope. Got the 7.1 Pro for the 2014, the 4180 for the 2014 and a pair of the Titan II speakers for the tour pack pods.

I've been reading about Polyfill and I think I'll give it a try while I have the fairing off. My question is, how does it install? I mean, isn't it just a bunch of cotton that if stuffing a speaker enclosure, you would place a bunch of it in the speaker box before mounting the speaker. But in this case where the speakers are inside the fairing, how are you guys installing the poly and keeping it where it belongs? What am I missing because the speakers are simply mounted in metal brackets and there really isn't an enclosure per se'.

Can someone who has used polyfill with luck give me some guidance here? I would appreciate it. Pictures would be great.

Thanks,
Jim

Search polyfill there's tons of pics.

You want to purchase it in a roll. Cut two sheets about 15x15, place it over the back of the speaker and tuck in

You don't want to put any polyfill in the tour pack pods since they are ported from the pods to the tour pack from the factory and use the tour pack as a speaker enclosure

Try it see if u notice any improvement, personally on my bike with my setup no gains could be heard and I really did not like the idea of the polyfill creating a water trap in the fairing around my water proof speakers.

May try it in lowers if have reason to go in there again sometime.

Wrapping polyfill around the speaker is likely only isolating any vibration that may occur under the fairing. which can improve sound but is not what you would normally use it for which is to make an enclosure seem bigger than it is and change the sound wave.

Those that have used it on a non pod speaker have used the type that comes in sheets, wrap it around the magnet then zip tie it in place.

You'll probably be better off putting some weather stripping on between the speaker and bracket.
