Default Which amp would you suggest

I am running a sony head unit with J&M Rokker speakers with the tweeter in the speaker covers. I am in the process of adding 6.5 Kicker speakers in some aftermarket lids. I am not sure how much power I will need but I am looking at the soundstream pn4.1000d or the pn4.520d. Will the 520 be enough and or will the 1000 be to much?

I just installed the 1000d on my 14 limited and it is clean and loud.If you are running 4 speakers and possibly looking to upgrade in the future I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the pn4.1000d for the price and the power and the ability to expand

You can never have enough power!!!

Once the audio bug bites you you are committed and always want more

It just like make more horse power you can NEVER have enough

What year bike are you upgrading?
What's your budget?
Do you want to keep FM?
Those J&M's will never hold up to the 1000D, they may not hold up to the 520D for long either. You will want to choose speakers first, then a amp to push them.

I have an 05 electra. I bought the speakers before finding this site I know people don't like J&M but after spending the money on the I need to stick with them. And yes they will be kicker 6.5" in the lids. I have a small amp I think its 100 watt (not 100% sure) and it doesn't seem to have the oomph to run the J&M's. What would you suggest for 7.1" if I would resell the J&M's (in the same price range of the J&M's)?

If you can sell the J&M's go with the BT 7.1's in the fairing, Arc MOTO 602's in your lids, and the pn4.1000. This setup will ROCK.

2010 Limited with some stuff

Huge fan of Biketronics stuff here. I will be upgrading from the 6.5" Titan II's in my fairing to the 7.1's here this winter. I am also running the 6.5" Titan II's in my saddlebag lids. I built this back when round speakers were the only option for lid speakers and I do really like the setup. I am using their 4180 amp to push it all through a Sony 310BSX head unit. The lifetime warranty offered through BT is great too! I may change the lids to the Double Up dual 6x9 lids from Cycle Sounds in the not so distant future and I will for sure use BT speakers with another one of their amps...

Yeah dump the J&M's. Get yourself the PN4.1000D.....it is BY FAR a better amp than the 520D.

If budget is tight you may consider what DFW has going above. The BT 6.5's are 179.00 - 10% HDforums discount code. That's 150.00 bucks for a set of speaker with lifetime warranty that sound great. You could probably get two sets for the price of the J&M's. The BT 7.1's have better bass, but the 6.5's get just as loud with very similar sound quality. Off the PN4.1000D four of those speakers would scream and sound significantly better than the Kickers in the back.
