So were the 6.5's for lowers or for speaker lids?

Do you have speaker lids already?

yes but after buying them off ebay I just do not like them. They are fiberglass and seem sturdy but not finished on the underside of the lid and there are no posts to mount the teathers to. Once again I should have done more research before I bought. I did find a set of fairing factory lids with 6X9's used but an wondering if I could and would be happy with just fairing speakers.

Ok here's my take.....I agree you should've done more research but it is what it is. If you can send the lids back by all means do. I would buy lowers and put speakers there before I would buy lids. Reason being the sound coming from in front of you is WAY more prominent than what's behind you at 70+. The lids can be heard at speed but it's more of a filler. If you don't like lowers and would rather do lids that's cool too. I would suggest a 6x9 lid over a 6.5 every time.

Thank you for all the help and suggestions. I do not care for lowers so they will be out. I will keep shopping for some lids. I did just see some Kuryakyn Injection Molded Saddlebag Lids w/Speakers - 873 they come with kicker speakers and everything you need to install for less than 300.00 but I am unable to find many reviews on them.

Any problem with the hog tune lids? Best out there. Hog Pro a sponsor here has them in stock for a very good price. Those are going to be your best bet.

Trust me bro. You want 6x9's in the lids.

at 600 they are out of my price range. I know no one likes the rocker xx speakers but would mine sound better with a better amp? Right now I am using a 150w 2 channel amp so that would only be like 40w rms I think.
