Default Stereo upgrade 2012 ultra classic

After reading 8 pages on this topic I have decided on the kenwood 998. At this time I am only.doing the head unit but want to expand in the future. As far as thumb control interface is one better than the rest and is there a better install kit. I live in Seattle so I will pick up a cover for the face plate. A amp and speakers are next. Do i need a amp tray for the sound stream pn 520D. Any suggestions and help is greatly appreciated.

Biketronics for radio install.

No tray needed. Most just use Industrial Strength Velcro and a zip tie it to the top of the HU.

What speakers do you want to use?

Stock for the time being. Kappa's in the front and kickers in the rear when I put the amp in. Thanks for the reply.

Those speakers will do well with the SS PN4.520D.

The biketronics is great I'm sure. But the Metra kit is cheaper and works just as well. The Metra has the mute option, and the biketronics kit retains AVC. I personally used the Metra as there is a sticky at the top with directions. There was a thread about the Scosche kit as well, but not a whole lot of info on here about it. Good pick on the Kenwood 998....i love mine!

Here's how I attached my PA3000. Thanks goes out to Gann for this!!

You're going to need a tray, bracket, or something to raise the amp about a half inch for it to fit if you are using an after market HU as the radio sits lower than the OEM one.

Also if you don't have the amp yet get the RZ42000D version.

Just to add to Haze's post. He's talking about the Power Acoustik RZ4.2000D.
