To the OP. In case you want to get more information. Sit down with you PC and peruse the posts in the audio forum, few of them are filled with this much information. I built my system based upon the reviews I read, and am very happy for the price. It was not without some drama, but in the end I'm happy.

I was thinking the same thing, my vid is out in the open, I thought when I did it, you wouldn't get a really good comparison in the garage. (Not dissing your system, it sounds fine Tail)

Link to my lil system is in my sig, a little country, "Better Dig Two" and I had just got flashed, BT Line Levelers are on the way, that will give me Bass / Treble and fader adjustments back! What flash did you use for the JM system?

 

Works for me JimT! I ride to Danville all the time! They got some nice watering holes in that town. Thinking about rolling to Miami to see my friend HAZE next summer. St. Louis is on the way!! Let's roll

 

Think the flash was zero amp, 4 speakers, 2 upper fairing, 2 rear pod. Just handed the print out to the HD Tech.
This is my starter set thus I am already shopping for upgrade options. Not sure where to start but thinking about going after the BT 7.1 for fairing speakers right away with line leveler. Not sure how this will all mix in with the 500W JM amp and if it involves to many moving parts I will probably wait a bit and just get the BT4180, 7.1s, and line leveler in a package. Will research what you guys are using before committing as each sound really damn good, just trying to find the one that hits the right sound for my ears. Right now the highway speed quality is not anywhere near what I would like.

Yeah Tailwind - That's the thing that kills me with the JM stuff. That 500W $800 amp won't drive the BT.7.1's to their full potential. It's set up for 2 ohm speakers @ 125W per. Once upon a time I had that amp and never could get good sound with 4 ohm quality speakers. The BT amp is cheaper with 3X more power. Go with the 7.1's and the 4180. Highway speed quality is there.

This will be my choice for my next upgrade. I'm satisfied with my setup for the moment but I knew it was just a starter kit when I installed it. BT is hard to beat for what your $$'s gets you.

Bates....what are u running now? PN4.1000D? That sounded plenty loud from distance!

 

Running a 6 speaker setup with 2 sets of Kappas being ran by a 4.520 and a set of Kickers being ran by a 2.350.

Crazy how just about a year ago or so that was one of the "go-to" set ups or the PBR and a year later we're talking Hertz, Cerwin B series, Diamond Audio, 1000D etc. Thing is, that still sounds great!

You should really try the PN4.1000D with that set up. Just recently I tested a set of Arc Moto's, Hertz HCX 165, and Kappas in a set of lowers with the PN4.1000D. I was blown away how good the kappas sounded with that amp. Last time I had heard them was with an RZ4.2000D. They kept up with the other much more expensive speakers.
