It's my belief that all the aftermarket ebay lowers come from the same manufacturer, regardless of the price asked. IIRC, I paid about $200 for mine, complete with laughable "pro" speakers and grills that went straight into the trash.
So I am looking and I see lot of lowers with pockets or cubby holes in them. I want specific lowers that have speaker pods correct? Would the Harley painted to match lowers work? To me it looks like it would require their Boom upgrade and that isn't going to happen.

Edit: Looks like aftermarket speaker pods can be purchased for the harley lowers.

Edit 2: I found all the parts I need painted to match from H-D. $966 shipped to my door. Guess I'll look at the used or after market lowers and take them to the paint shop! Yikes!!!

A friend purchased color matched lowers from Manchester HD for about 580.00, then we got fairing factory pods for about 90.00, you'll also need the CVO grills 60.00.

In my research, taking an aftermarket set of lowers to a paint shop cost overall the same as just buying the painted to match Harley lowers.

Hal's has them for $629 shipped which was the cheapest I could find

I found them for $595 at New castle HD. Then $238 for painted speaker pods. It is still cheaper than getting painted lids and the sound will be louder going down the road. I think I am going to do it. Next just to find which speakers I am going to go with.

As I said above, I can definitely hear them when riding, even at 70+ MPH! Just not with the wife on it!
