With the gains set correctly your volume on that radio should go up to at least 32 before you hear distortion with that set up in all pass or full. It's normally about 12:00 to 1:00 on the SS dial. If you use the HPF and cross over at 100-120 you can go louder but will lose some bass notes. As HAZE mentioned a lot of your tuning is going to come from the radio settings and the music you listen to.

gain just past 12. Leave it on Full Pass. Radio set HPF to 80hz slope 1. EQ flat, Loudness off, DSEE or DM+ On. and take it from there. I'd probably add two sheets of polyfill to the back of the speaker as well.

Ok, I'm with you on the gain just past 12. I'll be taking it apart this afternoon. Got 70 degrees today so I'm riding. I honestly don't remember where the switch is set. HPF set to 80, loudness off, DSEE on.


thanks for all the help. I'll see how long it takes to put that shell back on again. Too many things back there now.
