Distortion with new amplifier
I have a Biketronics Bt 1005 and a Kenwood KMR-D562BT HU. I recently bought a Kenwood KAC-M1804 amplifier to add it. I've had this set up minus the amp for awhile now and just picked up the amplifier. I have been running the BT stuff since '06 so I am pretty familiar with it. I just never got around to getting an amp.
I got everything hooked upand get distorion when I turn the volume up. Distortion starts when volume is only up around 16. I get no distortion when I unplug the amp. There are not any gain adjustments on the amp. I am running Biketronics Titan 6.5 in the front with Hogtunes tweeter pods and Polk Audio MM651 in the rears.

Thanks in advance!

The side rails come off and slides right in above your radio. You do need to raise it about a half inch for it to fit with an after market HU. Run a search here there's some good pics.
If u want a smaller option check out the Cerwin B4. It's cost quite a bit more though. But the Rz4 fits and does damage for 100 bucks.

Great info CG. It's the amp brother. First and formost the amp is only producing 45 x 4 @ 4 ohms. Severely underpowered for the Titan II speakers. You need a 2 and 4 ohm compatible amp to amp your polks as well. Not sure if you listen to FM radio or not but since you already have a class D amp I'll suggest a better amp for less than the one you already have. Purchase the Power Acoustik RZ4.2000D and connect the amp to your Titan's and polks. You'll see a night and day difference with no distortion. Clear and clean at 75mph.

Yup, it will be here Wednesday. I'm sure it will be pretty good considering I've never had an amp before!
I do have a question. I'll be running 10 guage and grounding at the battery. Fom what I've read a 30 amp fuse will be sufficient. Is this correct for the ground as well?
