Good advice.

First I'll say, I had a Sony 210 with the 4180 and 7P1's and you're never going to hit 50 on the radio. 40-43 is the sweet spot.

HPR and slope. The slope is the "roll off" angle. So if you are cutting your frequencies anything below 80hz at slope it's a gradual angle or slope so you get some more lower frequencies. Slope 2 is a bit sharper slope/curve and Slope 3 is very sharp...pretty much drops immediately at 80hz with no roll off.

I kept mine at 80hz slope 1, once the speakers broke in and then raise the higher freqs of the EQ.

Thanks for the follow up. I think those things are going to make a big difference. I just need to play around with those two and see what happens. I'm sure it will all sound even better when the speakers break in. I do think it sounds great. Don't get me wrong. Just want to sound better than the next guy w/out breaking the bank and going crazy like a lot of guys on here...haha.

going crazy......what do you mean!!!

So quick note. I was running Kappa's in my fairing and Pioneer 6X9's inside my bags with an RZ4.2000D. I then switched to PPI 900.4 amp inside my bags, this is monster power amp and holy cow did I think my bike was loud. I get the 7P1's and the first thing I think was "the Kappas were louder". Well actually the Kappas were "brighter" and after about a month or so of breaking in the speakers they were just as loud and the SQ was significantly better. So give it time, and after installing at least 10 different amps over the past year, each time I've had to make adjustments to the HU to get it just right.....and it's a pain in the azz, but worth it.

Enjoy!

Default Hopefully done adjusting

Okay so I finally got to make the adjustments to the head unit I mentioned in earlier post. This system sounds really good right now! I have the HPF at 80hz and actually put slope at 2. I cranked it up to test it out and it rocks. Even the bass now sounds better. (I know I won't hear it really at speed). I was jamming some rock and then put on some Beastie Boys. All sounded really good. Now I can fine tune the EQ a little bit but not sure if I need to since I don't sit in a parking lot, I actually ride. Haha.

Happy again

Neighbors came over today to see if I was having a party. It's loud and sounds great. My net very well spent and a lot of time consumed.

Now I can move on to another tech page and see what else I can buy...super shox maybe??

I have a complete BT System with Kenwood HU and no popping sound at all on start up. I went from Fosgate system and the BT is way better.
