What speakers to use with a pbr 300x2
#12
I had the Kappa's 62.11i and they sounded good, then one went bad on me. I had a pair of the Polk's MM651 that I purchased a while back, after installing the MM651 I have to say that the Polk's sound better and have more bass, I did however do some mods to the pods with the Polk's that I did not do with the Kappas.
With the Polk's I did cut the post inside the pods where the speakers mount level/flush so there is no gap between the speaker and the pod (inside installed on both sets), and also used the ring that came with the speakers outside the pod so there is no gap between the pod and the speaker grill.
The Kappas fit inside the pods without any mods to the inside, with the Polk's there is some minor cutting that needs to be done.
I believe my bass sounds better because of the mods as there was some gaps with the way the Kappa's were mounted that maybe prevented them from sounding their best.
I'm using the RF pbr300x2 btw, gain 7, AP, 85 freq
still on the 1.17 firmware with the RF amp recommendations done by the dealer.
