Default Amp question. 2 ch 4 ch.

I have a 2011 Electra Glide Ultra Limited. Have 6.5 speakers in the faring. Upgraded just a little from stock in the rear. The Boom.

I received an amp from a buddy as a gift. Research says a 4 ch would be best. Can I make a two channel work? I don't need the best a slight punch would be nice. Sounds good now when riding. Distorts when I go above 50%. Any diagrams or suggestions would be great. AMP I was given is:

Cerwin-Vega B2

The B2 is a great amp. Good friend!

You can run 4 speakers off of it, but they have to be 4 ohm speakers to get the most of that amp. I believe the Boom speakers are 2 ohm so that won't work. What speakers do u have in your fairing? You might find that connecting those speakers to the Cerwin is enough volume.

If they are 2ohm you can wire then all in series. That means the amp will see a 4 ohm load and split the 150w at 4 ohm per speaker....so 75w. You may find that's enough. Honestly the Booms probably can't take much more. It can be done but some good speakers up front hooked up to that amp is plenty loud.

you theoretically can put them in series... if the sound gets "better", not so sure...

Yeah . . . He's going to lose volume in a series. The first B2 was a gift so all he has to do is purchase another B2 and switch out the booms to the Kickers for $99 bucks. (KSC67) For $200 out of pocket the OP would have a nice system.

Would trading the b2 for an rz4.2000 benefit him or be of no use? Happen to have one on the shelf if interested.

I looked up that amp. RZ4 2000D. I asked my buddy were he good it from and asked if he minded if I return it for another. The RZ4 2000D id on sale for 109.00 so I got him $20 back and got the one I should be able to use. Wiring looks like a bitch. Will have to research that. Thanks for the offer. You guys on this site are great! Sonic electronics was the place. Hope it all fits together.
