I recently purchased a 2015 FLHTP. i am wanting to have a stereo installed in it. My dealer advised that I would have to purchase a different wire harness in order to do this. Is this true?

Yeah I'd say the dealer is correct to a point. You probably need another harness to make the handlebar controls work. If you have a place in the fairing for the stereo to fit and didn't care about hand controls. You won't need a harness. An aftermarket stereo can be installed in your bike without the harness. You would just have to turn your radio up and down with the ****. All you need is constant power, switched power and ground for the stereo and amp to work.
