I have the pink/white wire on the ASWC-1 cable but didn't use it, just wrapped it. Had a problem with it detecting and couldn't get anything to work like it was supposed to. Had the pink/white wire grounded to the triple tree. I grounded it to the battery and got it to work. It was doing all kind of weird things before I grounded it to the battery, wouldn't detect the radio, couldn't get it to reset, etc.. Yeah, it needs the SWC connection to the radio to work. Yes there is some good riding around the Green Bay area but it is short lived with the winters we have.

Tried connecting the ground directly to the negative post...still no handlebar functions...Gotta be some kind of compatiblility issue with my HU and the SWC wire....I mean, yellow to yellow, red to red, black to black, and pink/white to ground or ASWC-1 (tried both) basically pretty simple

Are you certain that HU has SWC capabilities?

Yes, that's why I purchased it, to use with the ASWC-1 and the 99-9600...I have attached a pic of the schematic for the HU

You'd think some of these guys with Kenwoods would chime in an try to offer some help. Hopefully someone will. Don't give up on it just yet. I'm betting whatever the problem is it'll be an easy fix.

I remember reading about a brown wire that had to be connected on the Kenwood HU. I'll see what I can find.

PM AAWAV. . . . He's got the Kenwood and the ASWC-1 set up. Not only that he knows that system like the back of his hand. When I have issues with that set up aawav is who I call.
