Maybe I'll go back in there this weekend and redo some stuff
It's not the speakers "D" those speakers are awesome little speakers. What amp and HU are you running?

Yes sir u are correct.. It was my first time setting gains by ear so I'm not totally certain I did anything in the right order.. I tried to follow nutz old write up.. When I get home I'll try to write down all the amp and radio setting I have and post them up for yall to glance over.. I tried using a flash drive and an ipod with about the same results

Man I know you went thru a mission to get that set up....so I hate to say it, but what's holding you back is the PBR. It was my first amp with those speakers and I too thought the speakers just couldn't get louder without distorting. So I switched to an aftermarket HU, and it helped but not a whole lot. Then I tried a RZ42000D and man what a difference over the PBR, then I when I added 6X9's in the bags I tried a PPI 900.4 inside the bags, and man those Kappas were SCREAMIN. Night and day difference over the PBR.

If I had to do it all over again and was looking for a better amp for those speakers without hesitating it would be the RZ43000D or the SS PN4.1000D. Second option Cerwin Vega B2.

p.s. I have "young" ears too.

I'd go ahead and get the 4channel cause your only gonna want more later down the road. It's just a matter of time.

Half way through an install with the Kappa 6.5s up front and the SS pn4.1000d. Waiting on lids and 6x9s but wanted to hear the fronts, this is all pre-flash on my 15 RG so I know it'll get better. As of now, I'm thoroughly impressed! Basis for comparison is a recently traded 14 SG that had a full 4 speaker & amp Boom setup and a previous 12 RG with SS amp and 4 Polks. These Kappas with the SS amp are awesome, my wife came down to the garage yelling "Jeeeze, turn that down, it's way too loud!" I said "Just wait till that sound doubles with the 6x9s!" hahaha

Any issues getting the 1000D to fit in the 15' RG Fairing?
