Default Rear pod speakers??

Been upgrading my system and so far have stock HU, I have a Sony mex-m70bt but waiting for mounting parts, with a Biketronics bt4180 amp, biketronics 7.1 speakers in the fairing, kicker 40cs654 speakers in the lowers wired in parallel with the 7.1's and Kappa 62.11i in the rear pods. The Kappas are louder than the front speakers and I don't really like the way they stick out so far, I had to use the spacers. Is there any better option for the rears that would sound good but fit better? Would I have to go with a smaller speaker say a 5.25 or is there a 6.5" that would fit better? I know the Kappa's are 2 ohm and should be more efficient but If I put 4 ohm speakers back there would it sound as good? I see a lot of people are using the Kicker cs67 and wonder if they would fit better??

This is what I would do before buying more speakers. I'd move the Kappa into the lowers and the Kickers to the rear pods. I'd wire the Kappas and the Kickers in parallel on the rear channel which would put your impedance at 3ohms and run the 7.1s on the front channel by themselves.

Not a bad idea. Will have to see if the Kickers fit better in the back. Have to try that when I get the rest of the parts to install the Sony. Should be here by next week.
Thanks.

Just thinking about wiring the kickers,4 ohm, and the kappas, 2 ohm, in parallel. Wouldn't the impedance be 1.333 ohms? Is that too low for the amp?

Yes that's correct. You won't be able to wire in parallel. Bates is thinking series.

Run the Infinity's in the lowers off the back channel of the BT4180 all alone. Run the Kickers in the rear pods and run those parallel with the 7.1's in the fairing off the front channel.

Thanks for catching my blunder. I need to revisit math class.

the kicker will fit in rear pod without spacer. they will come just a little over that circle where rear speaker sit. best buy sell 1/2 spacer too model metra 82-4400
Amazon.com: Metra 82-4400 Universal 1/2-Inch Plastic Spacer Rings for 6-1/2-Inch Speakers: Car Electronics Amazon.com: Metra 82-4400 Universal 1/2-Inch Plastic Spacer Rings for 6-1/2-Inch Speakers: Car Electronics

they match the price for that. the only thing bad about them u have to drill new holes for speakers. or if u can , install them together at once using original hole that fit the speakers

Thought about doing it like this. I know I will lose the fader but don't know if that would be a big deal or not. Will see.
