I ended up going to the hardware store and getting longer screws for the speakers. I don't have a part number, just took the stock ones and matched diameter and about 1/4" longer.
Since I don't have speaker grills I just connected the pods with the three allen bolts to check fit otherwise. The surround does touch barely on the top a bit. I haven't connected the smp yet but tried them with the radio. I was able to crank the volume to max and they never distorted.
About the pods.......there is one bolt that is nearly impossible to get off. Its on the inside of a metal plate near the center of the fairing connected to the bottom of the pod. The bolts point left or right depending on which pod you are looking at. Be prepared to be creative because they are in really tight and hard to get to. You can see two of them but one you have to really look for it. Good thing is, once you break it you can get it off with your fingers. I am considering not putting it back.
So, amp wires are run and last thing to do is wire up the speaker harness to the amp plug. After that I can test the system out and wait for replacement grills.

From the website:
"With these grills there is no restrictions on speaker choice as the grills are recessed to accomodate speakers with tweeters that stick out further than the speaker basket mounting holes. "

So... I'm confused... will these CS grills work with the 62.11i's or not. One guy say's yes, one say's no. I'm installing these speakers and grills tomorrow! Would like to know for sure before I rip my bike apart. Not really interesting in running without grills. Even less interested in removing those damn pods twice!
