----- when the balance is adjusted to center, that is. Speaker doesn't sound crackley like it's blown. I've adjusted the balance so they're equal, but it's just not the same. (JL Audio speakers. 6.5) Is it possible to have a blown speaker without all the crackling & distortion that's usually associated with a blown speaker? I'm not an installer --- just a listener --- so not sure I'd even know what to look for if I got under the fairing.

 

Swap the wires left to right and vice versa. If the problem stays on the left it's the speaker. If it moves to the right it's the amp or head unit.

You might look at the speaker connections. The speakers have a + / -
They will work if crossed but not as well if they are connected wrong.
