Default Amp for Roadglide

My wife has a 2003 Roadglide, and bought a tourpak from an ultra. I have put the quick release hardware on it but now I need help with an amp to power the rear speakers that are MTX 4ohm. What would you suggest. Not looking for high end. She listens to FM and an mp3 player. Will anything fit in the fairing? Stock stereo. Willing to change out stock front speakers if need be.

You could run a PRB 300X2, which would allow you to keep FM and it will tuck away nicely in the fairing. I would replace the fairing speakers with a 4ohm variety (Kicker KSC 67) and run your amp in parallel. The Kickers will run you about 100 bucks and the PBR can be purchased around $150. It'll be a nice upgrade for the money...just my .02 cents.

I agree with Austin. Sweet set up. You'll be surprised at how good that set up sounds,

Sounds great, thanks for the help.
BTW Does anybody have the schematic for the stock stereo wiring? I don't see it in the service manual. So I know what wires to attach to for the amp and rear speakers.

except the amp gains and hence the volume will change depending on whether or not you have the rear speakers installed or not.

What is the difference between the KSC 67's and the KSC 65's other than the size?

Exactly. The size. 6.75 vs. 6.50 The larger speakers give you a little more thump due to the woofer being 1/4 in larger. Bolt pattern is the same.

I'm running the KSC 67's and they are great speakers for the money. Now if that damn speaker grill would stay in place, they'd be perfect!!!!!

Ok,speakers & amp came this week. I was reading the FAQ and it mentions the stock HU is 2ohm. Will this be a problem with wiring in the PBR300-2 amp. Also since her bike did not have the tour pack stock I need to run wire for the rear speakers, will this have to be done in series? I will search for a thread on wiring it but could use the help.

No problem with the 2 ohm stock radio. Once the unit is amped the amp controls the impedance to the speakers. You will need this harness for the rear speakers:
