Default Install Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 Amp

I have a few questions, What do I set the Crossover frequency to LP, AP, or HP. Also what do I set the High level adjustment too. I'm asking these questions now because I'm installing the system in the morning. Installing Infinity speakers as well. It also mentions a remote outlet but I don't have a remote so I just ignore this or what? :i con_frown:

No need for remote wire. Your Hi-level (speaker inputs) will turn your amp on.

Try the amp at AP or All Pass first. This will allow a full freq range. IMO, this sounds "better", but if you are after max volume then set it to HP and set it around 60-80hz cut off. This will only send freqs from that range on up so you can crank a bit louder on the highway, but you won't have many lows while parked.

Try it both ways see what you like most.

Crossover with those speakers should be set at AP, or all pass. LP is low pass where you get bass but no mids or treble. HP is high pass and does the opposite. All pass you get a full range and can adjust to your liking with the head unit controls. Correct, don't use a remote in a motorcycle application. Good for car audio, subwoofers and such. Let us know how ya do. Hope this helps

Lol, Thanks guys, hope this goes well. I noticed that the cable kit I purchased looks like the ground wire is going to be to short. The positive cable is about three times the length I need. Can I cut that wire and splice it in to reach the battery or go buy a longer ground wire

Ideally you want to keep the ground wire as short as possible. If it's not long enough to reach the battery go purchase a new one. The less stuff you splice the better off you are. . .lol

+1 on trying All Pass first. Those speakers are a bit bright to begin with and AP helps them to fill out the sound. Agree with Gann, go get a single wire that's long enough to reach the battery for your ground and make sure it is the same gauge as the power wire. Don't forget the polyfil to wrap the Infinities in, it will help to tighten up the lower frequencies.

Yah, my thoughts exactly on the wire. I picked up the PolyFil last night, so good to go on that part. Just cant believe they don't give you enough wire with the kit. IF I only new what I was getting I would have just purchased the wire and made it up as I needed it. Oh well live and learn. hopefully Wall-Mart will sell that wire, seeing it's not to far away.

One more question (yah right) You guys said to set it to All Pass first. Does this mean I don't have to touch the HZ setting if its in All pass?

Thanks guys for your help

That's correct. In All Pass the freq. **** doesn't do anything - only in HP or LP.
