I take it the near 7" is too wide?

Yes Sir . . The width is the problem. It will sit in there but you will never get your fairing back on.

For the Infinity 6.5's, Will they fit in an '11 limited fairing?
I see they make a 5.25 as well...

I have the Kappas 6.5's in my 12 Street Glide, using adapters. Very easy install. Pickup a set of the adapters and go with the 6.5's. Great sounding speaker with an amp.

What dugan said. You want the 6.5's in the fairing. Use these adapters:
