Default Soundstream PN4.520D Wiring Question

Just installed a Soundstream PN4.520D with Infinity Kappas all the way around on my 2011 Limited. HUGE thanks to everyone who has provided information on this forum - especially Ultranutz and Gannicus.

I'm a little confused about the wiring, though. I've attached a picture from the manual. On the high level inputs on the amp itself, it shows the wiring as +-G-+. On the wiring that plugs into the amp, it shows -+G-+. Which is correct??

Thank you!

Great question....just got mine today and was wondering the same thing. Which side do you use? I'm only using front fairing speakers if that matters.

That's a good question! That's a popular amp though so I'm sure someone will chime in pretty soon. To strtglde11's question...I'd imagine if you're only using the fronts you should connect to the plug on the left. That's the side that the low level RCA plugs are marked for fronts.

I am installing the same setup on my 13 limited , did you relocate the CB module under the radio? Would like to hear your opinion on the sound. Does FM radio still work? Thanks

River - I did relocate the CB under the radio. I didn't use any kind of bracket, just velcro tape and zip ties. Seems pretty secure.

I did not lose radio reception. My SiriusXM reception is also fine, and that antenna is mounted directly on top of the amp. Don't know about the CB. Haven't tried it.

I was pretty happy to retain my radio. I don't know why I didn't lose reception. The amp is mounted directly on top of of the radio.

I can't tell you if this makes a difference, but when I ran the power and ground back to the battery in the wiring tray under the gas tank, I was careful to keep those wires away from the FM/AM antenna wire. I also didn't run the power and ground through the wiring harness sleeve coming out of the fairing. I ran them out of the fairing by themselves on the right side.

I'll see if I can get some pictures tomorrow, and post them here.

The label on the amp is correct. You can varify by the outward movement of the woofer cone once connected.

correct... "usually" speaker wires are solid and a solid/black stripe colored (1 pair).
stripe one is + - in this case you A:WAYS want to use the label on the Amp as the right one

I just installed this amp myself. I did notice I lost one of my preset stations on my radio. I was able to keep the main three stations I listed to around town which is what I really wanted. Kept 99.1, 98.5, and 100.7. Lost 97.5.

Who knows but I'm really happy about spending 100 bucks instead of 300 to power 4 speakers.

I bought this amp too. Does wiring it this way vs. RCA do an adequate job? I replaced all my speakers, then put the cap back on. Thought I'd wait and buy a new head unit, kit, etc. But if wiring it up this way works, I may give it a go and see what I think.

Thanks in advance.
