Default Stereo upgrade done over Thanksgiving weekend

Many thanks to UltraNutZ and other contributors to this forum. After a couple of months of reading the threads and looking at different choices, I went to Amazon and bought the following: Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 amp, Infinity Kappa 6.5" speakers, Arc Audio speaker adapters, and the Rockford Fosgate wiring kit. I found mounting brackets to mount the amp above the stereo on eBay from harley08davidson. I mounted and wired the amp on Wednesday evening, and mounted and wired the speakers on Friday evening. Took about 3 hours total, but I'll bet I could do it in an hour now. Didn't take the tank off, after looking at the forum threads, just took out the bolts and raised it up enough to get the 12v hot wire into the wiring channel.

I used the factory speaker grills, so everything still looks stock, but it sounds really good. This is a pretty simple upgrade that you can do yourself on any weekend for about $350. Thanks again to the thread for giving me the information to do it right the first time.

Great Job! What bike? Those speakers have a +3 db button on the tweeter. What did you set them at?

The brackets were about $50. I saw where some guys are just velcroing the amp to the stereo, but I thought that the brackets allow for better heat dissipation, and it's just a cleaner setup. Two screws and you can remove the amp in just a second.

It is a small button that is located on the tweeters. You can either have it pushed in, or popped out. Not sure which position is what as I'm at work and don't have mine sitting in front of me.
