Default 2012 radio issues after washing

I washed my 2012 street glide and when I started it up the radio came on then went dark. Checked all fuses and they are good. also noticed that i have a clock display on my odometer that I never had before. Did I just fry my radio or is their a reset some where i am not seeing. Thanks Phil

when you remove the stock head unit on these touring bikes (13 and prior) then the clock function moves from the head unit to the odometer. Weirdest chit I've ever seen but good for HD for thinking of that one.

now to your issue. What appears to be happening is your radio is not being seen by the ECM therefore the clock function moved to the odometer. So we need to figure out a couple of things.

1. are you getting +12v to pins 10 and 20 on the 23 pin connector at the back of the radio?
2. are you getting +12v to pin to pin 12 on the 23 pin connector at the back of the radio ONLY WHEN ACC or IGN is ON?
3. are you getting a solid ground to pins 11 and 19 on the 23 pin connector at the back of the radio?

Same thing happened to me on my 2008 after washing. Once the radio dried out some it would work on and off. Finally pulled it out, sent to Iron Cross Audio. They repaired it for $150 and also added some weather proofing to it. No problems after that. Sounds like you got some water in the radio. They are prone to that.

Thanks for the tips. A new development i found my battery keeps getting drained also. I had it load tested and is good so i think the short in the radio is causing the issue so I am going to unhook the radio and see if my battery holds up. Then make the decision to repair or replace the radio. thanks for the help i will keep you posted on results. Phil
