Default Help with ASWC-1 / Metra install AND PROGRAMMING

Followed the sticky of AAWV write up on the install (good write up), especially after the confusing instructions that came with it about the pink white wire, being grounded.

Here is my problem as soon as I turn on the ignition an the radio powers up the volume climbs to max level and I can not turn down with hand control or radio control, thought I was going to blow a speaker so I have to turn off ignition can not program when the max volume blows to maximum every time.

Any clues, the online version of instructions talks about grounding pin 6, brown white wire, It that something I am missing?

Any help this is a Sony head unit and 2013 street glide, got be baffled, did 4 installs with the Biketronic units but this one is throwing me.

Yes if I unhook the pink white wire I grounded I can go back and use the Sony head unit volume, but no hand controls.

I've not used AAWAV's instructions but haven't had an issue yet following the ASWC-1 wiring instructions for 1998 and newer HD. Pin6 that you referred to in your other post is in the 23 pin stock harness. Splice into it a couple of inches from the 23 pin radio connector and ground it.

and just for grins...

this pink wire needs to be grounded correctly. when you cut the wire make sure the end you're grounding is the end coming from the handlebars and NOT coming from the radio.

AAWAV, I have re-read the sticky with your install instructions, you do not mention this (to me) mysterious 6 pin brown white wire being grounded.

I do not have the bike open right now will get back into it this week.

Verify pink wire before you do anything else
