I would pay money for a really good after market infotainment system to replace the boom 6.5 display. I know there are others that feel the same way. Has anybody heard of a company looking at making one?

Ain't gonna be easy...
None of the handlebar infotainment controls are directly connected to the radio system; they're hardwired to the BCM, which in turn, interprets the inputs & then sends out the correct signals to the individual electrical components.

Dam. . . Harley Davidson is trying aweful hard to keep us from adding an aftermarket sound system to our bikes. If they keep this up my last new bike is gonna be a 2013 instead of the 2015 I was planning on. . . lol
Gan
I have 2013 PV and BT s Last of the era, Plain old air & oil cooled.
what they call it it's a dry heat
Roger that! I'm with you smoke. . . Old school to the end. I will never buy a water cooled Harley. Sooner or later they are going to make it impossible to put aftermarket tunes on our bikes without going to the dealer first. I see a trend already with the 2014 bikes. By the time 2016 gets here we will have to pay out the *** to put an aftermarket system on our bikes. . . You heard it here first. . .LOL
I would bet that mfg's will watch what numbers Jensen puts up with their direct replacement for the 2006-2013 models.......if that isn't a big seller, no one is going to put the coin into the 2014 replacement !

This is also the reason so many are experiencing freeze ups, controls not working, etc because the voltage drop associated with starting the engine happens during the handshaking of the bootup process (which takes quite a while to complete) & causes bootup errors that manifest themselves as these symptoms.
