I can vouch for the Platinum system. I have to disagree on this starter's conclusion and comparison because it DOES let you control rebound on the fly and is easily adjustable on every level. Now he also quotes it as only giving you 4" of travel, isn't that enough? I can slam mine down as far as I want, or raise it as high as I want. No issues to date and am totally stoked with my purchase!

Check out my gallery for pix.

I have to agree with Tipn8r. When you drop the Platinum it is riding on the bump stop. It will not go any lower. AND IT IS FULLY ADJUSTABLE ON THE FLY JUST LIKE SHOTGUN. IT WAS DESINGED BY THE SAME PERSON AFTER ALL.

Are they only made for softails or do they have options for dual shock bikes, also, is there a fail-safe if the electronics crap out?

the shotgun shock is designed so that if the lines or the compressor fails the shock will stay in whatever position it was in. as for the dual shock bikes i know they make them for touring bikes, so i think you could adapt them to work on dynas as well.

Default Shotgun Shock is a nice system

I got it a bit ago and the ability to adjust on the fly with my wife on the back
is a nice feature (what railroad tracks?)
There are other systems out there but you have to see this thing to believe the quality. All I can say is they are out there and Shotgun Shock is on my
bike and it kicks A$$.
You won't get the owner from the other companies to talk to on install--as mentioned JD is a guy who stands by his product.
I'm not going to talk it up any more that I need, get one and ride a bike
the way it's supposed to be ridden comfortable on long hauls and slammed
and sick at the flip of a switch.
Ride safe hombres.

This has been dug up from the archives so I will comment. JD takes care of business. Period. It si rare to find a company that stands behind it's products like he does. It makes my life easier when a company will take care of a customer after the fact as well. Thanks JD.

Ok possibly a stupid question here, but do you buy these directly from JD or are there folks out there that are dealers for him. Also what ever became of the group buy that was on here?

I think this is worth a bump, considering all the interest in lowering our softails.
