Default Aftermarket Saddlebag Support Brackets

Apologies if this has been previously posted but Drag Specialties is now carrying an aftermarket Saddlebag rail support bracket that they say is 15% thicker than the OEM equivalent.

5 yrs and 40k miles and I'm on my 3rd replacement. They crack on the bottom where they tie in to the rear fender. Ordering one for the left side today.

These replace OEM #90718-79C and 90720-79C.

Drag Specialties:
P/N 14130011 BRACKET FNDR/SB LH MSRP $49.95
P/N 14130012 BRACKET FNDR/SB RH MSRP $49.95

MSRP for the H-D equivalents are right around $80 ea.

Just broke left one on my 06 RK Custom. Bought the Drag Specialties one. Anyone got any instructions on what I need to do to replace it? Do I need to remove the rear fender 1st? Any help / advice would probably save me some time!

My left bracket on 05 Road King is cracked also. How hard is the replacement?

No need to mess with the fender.

Let me see if I can find some instructions.

Easy to do though. I have 10 thumbs and I did it twice.

Best bet is to buy the service manual or for $30 you could try downloading this service manual:

Basically you just have to remove the saddlebag, detachables bracketing and the bolts down below where the bracket ties in.

Hardest part is replacing the detachables bracket in the same position. I usually trace mine to remember the angle and placement.

6 months and 5k miles so far which is almost as long as they have been on the market.

Noticeably beefier than the stock ones. So far so good.

This worked for me .... as long as you're not into the show bike deal. Mine is a daily driver. http://www
Well, I think I can't post my photos from another forum. Sorry for the mistake on my part. I'll try to get my photos on here some how.
I used a piece of 2" angle iron, cut it just right, drilled a couple of holes, painted it silver and walla.
